Europe Tour 2009

About Performance

The Waseda University Symphony Orchestra toured 10 cities in Germany, Austria and France in 2006 from February to March. Performances are held in Frankfurt, Salzburg, Vienna, Berlin, Dresden, Paris, and other famous music cities in Europe. Each performance site is almost full. It was welcomed with surprise by discerning local music fans and the media in Europe, the home of classical music.

Among them, the Berlin performance at the Philharmonie Saar in Berlin on March 5 was the best concert of all the performances. At the end of the program, the audience erupted in applause. After that, an encore was played, but the applause did not stop, and all the guests stood up. I was able to receive an all-standing ovation, the highest honor for a musician.

This event was reported in the major German newspapers “Berliner Morgenpost” and “Tagesspiegel”, and it was described as “comparable to any famous orchestra in the world”, and this performance was the most successful in the history of the orchestra.
