1986 Europe Concert Tour

About Performance

The “Waseda University Symphony Orchestra 1986 European Concert Tour” is the Waseda University Symphony Orchestra’s fourth overseas concert tour. From February to March 1986, they performed in 20 cities in 5 countries around the world.

This concert trip was held with the aim of “deepening exchanges with the people of Europe, transcending ethnic and social differences, and contributing to international cultural exchange through the common language of music.” I was invited and also had the opportunity to perform in Czechoslovakia, a large-scale performance that lasted 43 days.

*A live recording was made by Deutsche Grammophon at the Berlin Philharmonic Saal on February 22nd and 23rd, and this recording was released as an LP and CD by Polydor K.K.
