1978 Tour of Germany and Austria

About Performance

The “Waseda University Symphony Orchestra Germany and Austria Tour” is the Waseda University Symphony Orchestra’s first overseas performance tour. In September 1978, we performed in four cities, including participating in the 5th International Youth Orchestra Competition (commonly known as the Karajan Competition). 

*On September 5th, a public recording of North German Radio (NDR) was made at the North German Radio Studio in Hamburg.

*Participated in the 5th Youth Orchestra Competition at Berlin Hochshu Lethal, Berlin. They performed on September 15th, the opening day of the competition, and were selected as first place in the symphony/orchestra section presentation on the 18th.
